CANopen Architect User Manual
What is CANopen Architect?
CANopen Architect is a Web based software tool that allows CANopen related files to be quickly and easily generated. By selecting user-friendly input options, customized files will be generated with only a few mouse clicks. The files may then be cut and pasted or saved.
Using CANopen Architect
CANopen Architect is very straightforward to use.
At the top of the page there is the project title and links to project options, such as saving a project, loading a project and creating a new project. When CANopen Architect is first started a new project with the name "Untitled" is automatcally created. When files are generated, the settings will automatically be saved to the project. Once you have finished generating code you may choose the Save Project option to save your project file.
Note: If you do not save your project file you will lose all settings you have made since starting CANopen Architect. It will not ask you if you wish to save the project when you attempt to close the web browser. Also if you stop using CANopen Architect for 30 minutes or more, you will lose all settings you have made.
Generating files is divided into three steps. Step 1 is to select the module you wish to configure. Simply click on the tree to work your way to the module you wish to use.
Step 2 is to enter
the options for the module. The options have been made as user-friendly
as possible, however sometimes reference to specifications, etc. will be required to
understand some of the options. Once selections have been made, clicking on
the Generate button will generate customized files based on your selections.
In some situations, notes may be displayed along with the generated files. Notes are shown immediately before the generated files.
Step 3 is to either save or cut and paste the generated files. A link will be provided in both versions to open the generated files in a seperate window as an aid to cutting and pasting.
On each page are links to additional information that may be useful. These include accessing the documentation and relevent online training classes.
